Today it is difficult to recognize between GMO and organic food. Everything looks quite similar because of the wide range of similar products and the unclear explanation on the labels of the products.

The designation “100% Organic” means that all the ingredients in a product must be completely organic.
The designation “organic food” means that at least 95% of the product is pure organic.
100% and 95% organic products should have the official stamp of the WHO on the label.
The designation “food with organic ingredients” means – at least 70% of the product is organic, but there is no stamp for healthy organic food.
Foods with less than 70% organic matter can not and must not have the word “organic” on the label.
These four explanations are the conditions for recognition of organic products in the stores.
The definition of organic food is based on consumer interest in organic food, which is not chemically treated, with the use of pesticides and such. Such ingredients are purchased directly from farmers. People want more organic food, the number of producers of such products, which have a regular inspection of their products in order to remain certified, has increased. Farm size does not exist as a condition to obtain a certificate for the production organic food, but because of the previously mentioned types of food, restrictions on the ingredients in the product expressed in percentages are imposed.
Organic food usually includes fruits and vegetables, but the term is also used for foods of animal origin, if the animals are reared and fed in a healthy and natural way.
In Europe and America there are specialized markets that sell organic ingredients.Environmental rules
In order for a vegetable to be considered organic, it should be grown according to the following rules:
– Pesticides, herbicides and similar chemicals should not be used during cultivation
-No use of chemical agents in the field, in which organic food is grown, for at least three years
-Fields must be clearly separated from the fields where chemicals are used, health is genetic engineering, so everything must be natural
-Pest problem is solved by using natural baits and traps or with the use of animals that are natural enemies of pests
-The rule for organic food of animal origin is that the animal’s growth cannot be accelerated by adding hormones or any kind of drugs and artificial food to its diet.
The label also must contain a code number of the certification body that has certified the producer of organic food.
The above mentioned strict rules exist for the benefit of organic (ecological) food for human health. The consumption of such foods, decreases the level of toxins in the body. Non-organic agricultural production contains too much toxins in the form of pesticides and metals that improve the sustainability of food, but certainly adversely affect the overall health of people. Some of these foods increase the risk of various diseases such as nerve diseases, cancer and such. Foods produced organically contain many more nutrients such as proteins, vitamin C and minerals.
The advantage of organic compared to non-organic food is explained in a professional scientific report: organic food contains 27% more vitamin C, 21% more iron, 29% more magnesium and 13% more phosphorus compared to non-organic food.
